The American model Hilary Rhoda once said, “Maxi dresses are also my best friend. They take me from my morning coffee, to the beach, to night time”. And she was right! This beauty below took me to the Angkor Wat temple (the temple itself, not to be confused with the complex, which is also called Angkor Wat), on to the Preah Khan temple, and then to dinner at a little hole in the wall restaurant called Lilypop, where I had my first real taste of Khmer cuisine. She did a lot for me that day. 😊
The pale peach/nude maxi dress had a very discreet cold-shoulder, was about mid-calf length and perfect for Angkor Wat, one of the few temples where checking for inappropriate attire is quite serious (it passed muster, none of the guards so much as raised an eyebrow). I wore my hair in a side braid because you honestly need it tied up in that heat and humidity. I paired the dress with a necklace and bracelet set, a pair of black shoes, my black CODE handbag and the G-Shock watch you saw in my previous post. For the face, I decided that a pop of red would be just the thing for this otherwise nude look. A dash of liquid liner on the upper eyelid, mascara and mild tinge of blush on the cheeks rounded out the day’s look for me.
Shoes: Ginger, from Lifestyle
Accessories: Necklace and Bracelet set from Pantaloons
Handbag: Code, from Lifestyle
Makeup: Eye Liner from Lakme, Mascara and Blush from L’Oreal, Compact from ColorBar and Lipstick from Bellapierre.
PS: In case you’re wondering where I got a lipstick from Bellapierre and how I found the brand, let me clarify by saying, I didn’t. I sometimes get a monthly Fab Bag, which is a great way to try different cosmetics and skin-care products for a fraction of their price. This deep, sensuous red is a creamy matte and has been my go-to for red lips since I got it.
