Jumpsuits – The New Dresses

Reading Time: 2 minutes

Elegant, classic, perfect for that dinner date…. sound like a beautiful dress or gown to you? Ha! But I am not talking about a dress at all. Jumpsuits are the new dresses, taking over as the outfit of choice for those brunches, cocktail parties and even dressy dinners. I love being a woman for many reasons, and one of them is all the new, innovative clothing that comes up for us. πŸ˜€ Imagine wearing variations of pants and shirts all your life!!!!! Sigh! The tragedy!!!!! πŸ˜‰

Back to jumpsuits.  I would choose the crisp, clear cuts with tapered pants (the cigarette pant type) for the formal occasions, while the more flowy silhouettes are an anytime wear. I picked this ice blue cold-shoulder jumpsuit for my trip to Greece.

Geared up for a day in Ancient Olympia

I wore it when we visited Olympia, home to one of the 7 ancient wonders of the world – the colossal, 40-foot statue of Zeus by Pheidias. It has a very trendy cold-shoulder, fitted waistline and has breezy pants. I think they got the fit reasonably right, which I have noticed is a bit hard to nail with jumpsuits. The material was flowy and the wind whips it all up around you, giving you a very Princess Jasminesque feeling. Err, yes, guilty of thinking that about myself πŸ˜›

I paired the jump suit with silver tassel loafers, a silver charm bracelet and a Calvin Klein watch. I added some color with mauvish berry lips and kept the rest of the face simple by lining only the upper eyelid.

Road-trip stopover for sunset – Kalamata

The day was just as crisp and breezy as my jumpsuit, and I was comfortable, with the minor gripe of having to basically take the top off every time I needed the restroom. But hey, these are minor compromises for major payoffs. πŸ™‚ The jumpsuit was perfect for a long day of sightseeing. Lots of walking, climbing over crumbling stones and finally the 3 hour drive from Olympia to Kardamyli.

PS: I really do not like the more fitted, tailored jumpsuits because I have figured that I don’t have the figure for them. πŸ˜‰ But if you are thin and willowy, like Priyanka Chopra or Bella Hadid, then you would look lovely in those as well. Whichever style you choose, I definitely think at least one jumpsuit belongs in your wardrobe. Whites are really trending at the moment and also have the advantage of being classics.
